Lonely Planet’s No 1 Literary Walking tour in the World! Follow in the footsteps of Mikael Blomkvist and Lisbeth Salander — The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

Every Saturday all year round at 11.30am—1.30pm. July—September also Thursdays at 6—8pm.

The Tour

Over 80 million people have read Swedish author Stieg Larsson’s three Millennium books — “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” series. 65.000 people have participated in this walk that gives additional background information about the popular characters and landmarks.

Hollywood has produced an American version of the first book in Stieg Larsson’s series, adding perspectives to the original Swedish film adaptations. The main characters live and work in the central island of Södermalm in Stockholm. Now you can experience the atmosphere on location.

We start the walk at Bellmansgatan 1, which is where Mikael Blomkvist lives. Then continue on passing by the Millennium editorial office and up the hill to Lisbeth Salander’s luxury apartment. We will also see several additional locations mentioned in the books and films, including the latest books in the series by author David Lagercrantz, “The Girl in the Spider’s Web” and “The Girl Who Takes an Eye for an Eye”.

You will also learn more about historical and contemporary Stockholm and its inhabitants – most likely a key factor to Stieg Larssons’s choice of location settings.
